My New Home Store

Well not exactly. A.P.C. opened it's first official boutique in South East Asia. Located in Singapore, this beautiful and spacious location puts my local A.P.C. in West Hollywood to shame. It’s about five times the size and carries the full A.P.C. clothing, footwear, and accessory line. I would go absolutely crazy in here. Secretly, I’m kinda jealous.

It's Friday. Go Hard.

I'm going to keep it really simple this Friday.  So just listen and enjoy .....

Panty Droppa.

I've always been a fan of MTV's Unplugged. Songs I find mediocre on the radio suddenly come to life after the addition of a horn section or a second drummer. The newest installment of MTV's Unplugged features Trey Songz. The new age R. Kelly/panty droppa sings a collection of his current hits along with some surprising covers. Check out this preview. It starts out slow but once you get to 1:39 it gets on and poppin'.

Star Sighting,

It was my bro-in-law's birthday and he lives two blocks away from the Staples Center. Since our dinner reservation wasn't until 8:30, we decided to peep the scene at the Laker playoff game.  My wife is practically a regular at Laker games and she knew exactly where to post and see some stars make an entrance.  Excuse the quality of these pictures as I only had my iPhone to lock, load, and shoot.

Prep LA.

Growing up in So Cal, I've always associated the word "Preppy" with our brothers from the east coast. Kids from the Ivy wore khakis, chambrays, and boat shoes while we, the left coasters, wore tanks, board shorts, and flip flops. Is it the weather? Well I sometimes find it hard to find motivation to dress preppy in 90 degree weather. Not to mention we frolick in the beaches while they row and skull on the Cambridge shore. LA Times recently ran an article on how preppy is back in full effect in LA and how it never left. For the full read, click here.

Held For Ransom. Again.

Ransom by Adidas Spring/Summer 2010 video lookbook has me on the edge of my seat. I definitely need a pair before my Miami vacation. I am lusting on these babies pretty badly.

Roger Huerta

Once in the UFC and now entered into Bellator's Tournament, Roger Huerta went through it all growing up. Here's a short film about him and his past.

Only Becks.

While most athletes disappear from the face of the earth while rehabbing an injury, David Beckham’s grill has gotten more exposure than ever before. From drinking a beer courtside at Laker games, making an appearance on The View, to taking Brooklyn and Cruz for some Pinkberry; I see Beckham everywhere these days. Dude is so Hollywood, it’s ridiculous. But as we all know, this guy isn’t your average athlete. This is Becks we’re talking about, man. The guy that slaps on a wrinkled plaid shirt out of bed and still look like a million bucks. Oh and also the man who was supposed to save the MLS.

As you can tell in these pictures, he is in no rush to get back on the pitch with the Galaxy. I don't blame him.

Hyped.

A friend of mine recently showed me this video and it got me stoked for the World Cup. Once basketball season is done, I will be trying to catch as many WC matches as possible. Although USA is not a heavy favorite to win it, it's always fun to rep your country. 46 more days.

It's Friday. Go Hard.

The only reason why you should watch “The Losers” this weekend is to see Zoe Saldana go hard. Movie looks like a complete dud and Zoe Saldana in action is it’s only saving grace. Save yourself some cheddar and stare at these Zoe still pictures instead. Happy Friday!

Hamptons Approved.

If you're looking for something to solidify your preppy steez this summer, this Toms Madras Slip-On would definitely fit the bill.  Everything about this shoe screams summer beach party or the Hamptons. It might be a little steep at $85, but it will definitely turn some heads. In a good way. Pair the Toms Madras with these shorts and you just got yourself a Daily Lurker stamp of approval.

Happy Earth Day

Happy 40th Earth Day! I was not aware of Earth Day in it’s first 39 years of existence so I felt obligated to jump on the bandwagon this year and celebrate it’s 40th anniversary. So what have I done to contribute to eco-friendly everything day? Oh you know, blog about Kiehl’s and their cool Earth Day collaboration project featuring Pharrell, artist Jeff Koons, actress Julianne Moore, and surfer/model Malia Jones. Kiehl’s is donating 100% of the profits from their limited edition Acai Damage-Protecting Toning Mist to Rainforest Alliance. So if you feel like Acai tone misting while contributing to the conservation of tropical forests, then click here. On a side note, I’m digging Skateboard P and his stache but Malia Jones and her green eyes steal the show.

If I Was Lost.

One of my favorite shows of all time, LOST, is five episodes away from it's series finale. I've been a LOST fanatic since the very first episode.  After years of chasing conspiracies and cliff hangers, I can't believe it's finally going to end. As I was watching last night's episode, I thought to myself.  What digs would I want on my back if I was stuck on an island for a gazillion years? My main focus would be comfort and then quality to endure all the weather elements. This would be my picks.

Ellen Has My Shirt

Just spotted Ellen Degeneres on American Idol sporting my favorite Band of Outsiders Madras shirt from their Spring/Summer 2010 line.  I have to give credit where credit is due and the lady has some steez. Shirt is available at Tres Bien.

Come Ups: Billy Reid on Gilt Man

One of my favorite brands, Billy Reid, will be on Gilt Man tomorrow starting at 9 AM PST.  I will definitely be on standby since I missed the Band of Outsiders sale last week. If you're not a Gilt Groupe member, click here.

Retail Therapy: Band of Outsiders Sweat Shorts

I’ve expressed my affinity for sweat shorts once before. But this Band of Outsiders Sweat Short puts everything that has come before to shame. I don’t think you can make a pair of fashionable sweat shorts any better than this. And the toggle drawstrings make this near perfect. Paired with a deep v-neck and navy boat shoes and you've got yourself an instant summer classic.

RIP Guru

I was in my early teens when I first heard Gangstarr’s “Who’s gonna take the weight?”. I still remember my friend and I chose this song to use for our battle routine against some 8th grade kids from another city. Those were the days when all we worried about was how to be the baddest “houser” in the neighborhood. No bills, no mortgage, no drama. Just perfect the whole rotation on a 1990 and everything is all good, my man.

When I heard today’s news about Guru passing away, the epic Kennedy Junior High School battle was the first thing that came to mind. Now in my early 30’s, I can go on and on about all the nostalgic memories every Gangstarr/Guru hit brings back. May you rest in peace, Mr. Keith Elam. Thank you for all the great memories.

Plain White T's

I'm not too big on graphic t-shirts nor am I too big of a fan of v-necks. Don't get me wrong, I wear the standard v-neck every so often and due to work I wear a graphic shirt here and there. But I always prefer wearing a plain white shirt when I'm trying to be on the casual tip. My favorite plain tee is brought to you by HANES! They're a great fit and comfortable at that. Not a stiff feeling like Al Style shirts and definitely doesn't shrink like American Apparel.

Jose Aldo vs Urijah Faber

Henderson vs Cerrone

Mike Brown vs Manny Gamburyan

Anthony Njokuani vs Shane Roller

Antonio Banuelos vs Scott Jorgensen

Just a few of the fights that are going to occur during WEC on the 24th this Saturday. It's the first pay-per-view event for the WEC. Great cards and I'm definitely excited to see it!

Amazing.

Inter Milan's Maicon scored one of the most amazing goals of the season.  Check out the great ball control and a strike of perfection to finish it off. I'm on 50 and counting watching this video. Love it!

Game Time.

NBA playoffs officially start today. Cleveland looks solid in the East and the Lakers are still the defending champs. Kobe versus Lebron matchup in the Finals looks very promising this year. It's definitely game time!

Kim Kardashian. Oh Really?

Unretouched or not, Kim Kardashian laying naked on the floor is definitely worth a gander. Thank you Harper's Bazaar.

It's Friday. Go Hard.

Fridays always bring back the life that was sucked out of me during the week. But unlike any other Friday, this one is bitter sweet. As excited as I am for the work week to be over, it’s Coachella weekend and I’m not there. So what do I have in store for my weekend instead?

A Saturday morning 50+ mile bike ride from the hills to the beach and back.

Wifey has an eyelash appointment next to Barney’s in Beverly Hills and I plan on scoping the racks.

Afternoon Sunday game between the Dodgers versus the much hated rival Giants. Go Blue!

So whether you’re Coachella-ing or not this weekend, just remember another dreaded Monday is around the corner. So please don’t forget to GO HARD!

Tax Day.

April 15 marks the day when most Americans scramble to file their last minute tax returns. For the first time in what feels like eons, I filed my tax returns early this year. You see Uncle Sam has been ripping me a new asshole all year for claiming zero and I couldn’t wait to file and get some of my money back. With the refund in hand, I can’t wait to spend some extra cash that was mine to begin with. So what do I plan to do with my tax return refund?

A much needed weekend getaway with the wifey. Destination: MIAMI

And finally cross off the Alden Indy boot from my wish list.

To everyone

going to COACHELLA... I HATE YOU BECAUSE OF THIS...

Coachella 2010

No day passes available this year so my dreams of going to Coachella will have to wait another year. I couldn't justify spending $300+. Not to mention I'd have to take the Monday after off since it's almost guaranteed I'll be barely functioning. Only 125 miles east of where I live, it's so tempting to say fuck it and let's roll. Coachella 2010 is going to be BAH-nanas!

Till next year ...............
